12CP NAS: Part 2

Today I managed to find some time to continue with the 12CP NAS project. Since my last post I have received the RockPro64, which I had ordered. Now with this board fitted to the enclosure it’s time to power up for the first time.

RockPro64 fitted in the rear compartment of the ReadyNAS enclosure.

Using the existing power supply with its (non-standard) ATX connector I directly power the RockPro64 board located in the left half of the tray. A small stub of Ethernet cable connects its Ethernet port with the new port on the back of the enclosure. For this initial test I have plugged in a USB keyboard and a screen via HDMI. Turns out everything is working out of the box, Debian Stretch 64-bit with pre-installed OpenMediaVault is working and I can log on directly on the console as well as via the web-based GUI over the network!

My temporary setup, including the drive bays of the enclose on the left.
